Breaded Cheese Sticks


For the Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

10 pcs. red tomatoes
2T olive oil
2T butter
1pc. small onion, finely chopped
3 pcs. garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1T tomato paste
2t sugar
1/2 t red pepper flakes/ salt and black pepper

Procedure

1. Pulse tomatoes in a food processor until smooth puree forms.
2. Heat oil and butter in a medium saucepan over medium-high.
3. Add onion and cook , stirring, until golden brown and soft.
4. Add garlic and cook, stirring, until softened but not brown.
5. Add tomato paste, sugar and red pepper flakes, cook, stirring, until sugar dissolves, about 2 mins. 


For the Cheese Sticks

Ingredients

1 box cheese
1/2 all purpose flour
1 large egg
1/2 C seasoned dry bread crumbs
3 C oil

Procedure


1. Cut the cheese into sticks
2. Put flour into shallow dish and dredge the cheese sticks lightly in flour, shaking off the       excess.
3. One by one, dip in the beaten egg and then roll in bread bread crumbs to coat.
4. Put the sticks on the plate and freeze for 15 min.
5. Heat a deep fryer or heavy pot to oil.
6. Fry the sticks in batches until golden brown, about 1 min.
7. Let cool and serve with sauce.
